Silhouettes Character Design

Now, I'm not trying to lecture or make a tutorial, but the point here is that, visually, a well designed character needs a number of things, one of them being a strong, unique-to-that-character silhouette.

I have read this character design tip from John K, Pete Emslie, Richard Williams, and other places, including just being able to see it while playing Psychonauts (brilliant game), so I'm just trying to share something I have learned with anyone else who is interested.

I doodled these guys a few weeks ago, and being reminded of this silhouette rule (in the Bioshock 2 art book on the multiplayer characters) I decided to scan 'em in and see if I had done a good job in that one aspect. As drawings, they have other problems but apart from two of them, thanks to their hair, I think they have some good silhouettes, at least.

What do you think? Comments and crits about anything are appreciated.
